Automotive / Automobilia – This sale will feature another selection of automotive paper, dealership items, and more from the collection of the late Tom Shaw who had a hand in numerous muscle car publications over the years including Muscle Car Magazine. This includes numerous examples of Tom’s research folders which contain his personal research on numerous scarce and unusual muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s. Also included is Tom’s MOPAR slide archives with numerous quality MOPAR slides.
Other automotive highlights include a 1969 Chevrolet dealership album, 1969 Ford dealership binder, a large vintage collection of Indiana stamped license plates, Yenko Stinger automotive slide, a large group of Ward’s Automotive Yearbooks, numerous dealer only pieces of literature from Ford, Chevrolet, MOPAR, Mercury, Pontiac, Chrysler, and others.
Finally, we have a small but outstanding selection of original boxed Matchbox / Lesney cars in the original boxes. Many of these cars were purchased for use on a model railroad when new, and never removed from their boxes or played with. There are multiple examples in like new condition.
Aviation – This auction will also feature a wide selection of model airplanes in both die-cast and plastic form. Manufactures include Hasegawa, Monogram, Dragon Wings, Gemini, Revell, Matchbox, and more. Many various models from many different airlines are represented including Lufthansa, KLM, Air Canada, American, United, North Eastern, Air France, and many more. There is also a large number of aviation playing cards, many new in box from various airlines.
Nautical – Also within this sale is an outstanding collection of Nautical memorabilia from Michigan. This collection is highlighted by a Detroit and Cleveland Lake Liners engine order telegraph from the SS Eastern States along with a wonderful selection of Steamship China and advertising posters. The steamship china is highlighted by a wide selection of Pere Marquette, pieces from the St. Louis & Tennessee River Packet, various oil related pieces from Mobil, Texaco, Sun Oil, Manitou Steamship Company, Columbia Transportation Company, and more. Along with the china, advertising, and hardware, there is also a selection of tougher steamship playing cards from a very large transportation playing card collection that we have been working on throughout 2024.
