We will have additional whistles from this years program in our January 2024 auction and “Sound it & Sell it!” will return as an annual promotion in 2024. We’ll announce the dates as soon as Kentucky Steam Heritage makes them available to us. We look forward to seeing you in Irvine in 2024!

Rail & Road Auctions in conjunction with the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation is proud to present a unique opportunity to showcase your steam whistle(s) and then offer them to the highest bidder as part of our spectacular October railroad auction. 

Our “Sound it & Sell it!” program offers a 25% discount off of our normal consignment rate (on whistles only) along with a complimentary opportunity for every consigned whistle to take part in the Whistle Blow at the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation in Irvine, Kentucky. 

Rail & Road will deliver your whistle to the event, have it professionally hooked to a live steam locomotive, and let its’ majestic voice ring through Kentucky on live steam just as it was designed. During this event your whistle will be on display, and videos of your whistle in operation will be taken. Your whistle will also be showcased on the Delay in Block live stream on Youtube of the event. 

Upon conclusion of the event, professional photographs of your whistle and videos of it in operation will be added to our October auction.

This is a unique opportunity not only to showcase the history and beauty of your whistle, but to let potential buyers HEAR the voice of the whistle!
