Thursday June 27th, 2024 –
The Thursday session will feature just over 300 lots of railroadiana including china, lanterns, cap badges, lamps, locks, advertising smalls, uniform caps, passes, paper, postcards, and more.
This session will include a wide selection of Baltimore and Ohio blue china including ice cream shells, bread dishes, divided grill plates, and more.
Other highlights include a N&W Centennial service plate, C&O caboose marker lamp, mint and hard to find railroad playing cards (South Shore, Rock Island, GM&O, White Pass & Yukon, Chicago & North Western, etc.), a selection of 1800s and early 1900s railroad passes including DL&W, D&H Canal, Camden & Atlantic, and more.
There is a wide selection of hand lanterns including Keystone, Dietz, Adams & Westlake, and others.
Friday June 28th, 2024 –
Our Friday session features a wide range of railroadiana including locomotive hardware, signals, signs, china, and more.
The locomotive hardware is highlighted by a Pennsylvania Railroad Lunkenheimer three chime steam whistle. This whistle has a rich history having served as the East Altoona roundhouse whistle and later spending time atop Nickel Plate 765 as it traversed Horseshoe Curve in 2013. Other notable hardware includes a bell marked as having come from a Pennsylvania B6sb, two early oil fired locomotive headlights, a group of REPRODUCTION keystone and round PRR number plates, EMD diesel builder plates, locomotive marker lamps, and more.
Signaling equipment features TWO Griswold rotating stop banner signals, GRS full semaphore, searchlight signal, a set of die cast Chicago Signal train order desk levers, and US&S semaphore blade with hub.
The signage in this auction will feature a number of original and reproduction cast iron signs that will display nicely. This includes a Look out for the Locomotive, Yard Limit, Pennsylvania Railroad whistle keystones, Southern Railway Maintenance Limit, and others. Also included in this auction is a large Railway Express Agency porcelain sign which displays very well and has a known history.
The Friday session china features more B&O Centenary with tougher items such as a Turkey platter, tea pot, anniversary plate with box, food cover, ice cream cups, and more. Other quality china pieces include Wabash, Monon, N&W, Illinois Central, and a unique B&O wooden dining car crate.
Other highlights of the day include a handsome 1950 Milwaukee Road Centennial advertising poster, three baggage carts, Handlan block limit lamp, Ideal Merchants Dispatch cast iron floor train, Jersey Central / Reading terminal medallion / framed mirror, Chesapeake & Ohio embossed step box, large format William Henry Jackson photograph of Marshall Pass & Mt. Ouray, Colorado in the late 1800s, N&W safety bulletin board, group of Southern Railway advertising posters, and New York Central Walter l. Greene advertising prints.
Please take note that there are some larger items which will need to be picked up near Valley City, North Dakota. There are also larger items that will ship directly from our warehouse, but will require freight transit and crating.
