Rail & Road prides itself on quick shipping after our sales. For this auction we will not be shipping ANY items during the week of March 21-28th. We will begin shipping items for this auction beginning on March 28th and items may be picked up from Rail & Road beginning on March 28th. We will send invoices for the sale on March 20th and you are welcome to pay your invoice via our online electronic invoice payment page. 2 - Raco Burlington / CB&Q Railroad Signal Lock and Two Safetran Signal Locks

Raco lock stamped CB&Q on the side of the barrel. The Safetran locks are both cast with the logo in the body. See photos for best description.

3 - Pair of Corbin Rock Island Railroad Locks w/ Keys

Pair of brass Corbin locks both stamped with Rock Island R.R. on the front. Both shackles are marked HARDENED and both locks include working keys with pocket wear.

4 - Three Burlington Northern Railroad Metal First Aid Kits

One green kit box is empty, the other green box appears to have all contents included, and the white kit is sealed with factory plastic. All three boxes show minor wear.

5 - Five Brass Shop Repair Tags / Plates - Northern Pacific and Great Northern Railroad

Five shop repair tags including four oval tags cats with N.P. RY and stamped with an MN- and then the shop number. All four Great Northern tags have unique numbers. The Great Northern tag is cast with GN. 6746. See photos for best description.

6 - Pair of Sherburne Co. Railroad Caboose Whistles

Pair of Sherburne Co. caboose whistles. One mounted to a wooden base, the second mounted to a pipe flange. Both these bases allow the whistles to stand upright. One whistle has red paint remnants while the other is unpainted. Typical wear with no major notable issues.

7 - Adlake CB&Q Semaphore Lamp For Parts or Restoration

Adlake semaphore lamp which looks like the 254 / 258 lamp but has a different style chimney. Tag soldered to the body which is stamped C.B. & Q. R.R. No lens, lens retainer, or burner pot. Mounting pocket does have a notable dent, but should still be usable. Sold as is shown in the photos.

8 - Porcelain Trainmen in the Cupola and Watch Your Step Signs

Pair of porcelain signs. The first cobalt blue and white sign reads "Trainmen Only Are Permitted in Cupola" The sign measures 8" x 2" and has only minor chips near the corners and grommets. Outstanding glossy blue color throughout the field. The second sign reads "Watch Your Step" and measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/2". The sign does have wear in the field from outdoor exposure as well as minor chipping at the corners. See photos for best description.

9 - Burlington Route / CB&Q Tin Paperwork Holder

Stamped with the square Burlington Route herald on the front. Measures 5 3/4" x 3 3/4". Mild wear to the tin plating from use.

10 - Burlington Railroad Brass Pyrene Fire Extinguisher

CB&Q / Burlington Railroad Brass Pyrene Fire Extinguisher Embossed with CB&Q.R.R. on the top end by the handle. Extinguisher is unrestored with the original wall bracket. Minor chipping to the Pyrene decal and minor tarnish spots on the body from age.

11 - Pair of CB&Q / Burlington Railroad Aluminum Trust Plates 1959 / 1962

Both plates measure 13 5/8" x 5 1/4" One plate is from the 1959 Trust No.1 from The Northern Trust Company. The second plate is from the 1962 No. 2 Trust from Morgan Guaranty Trust. One crack starting to form on the upper right corner of the No.2 plate which has been sandblasted, but the corner is still intact. No other notable issues, other than typical age wear.

12 - Rock Island Railroad Freight Agency Manual

Manual measures 11 1/4" x 11 1/2" and appears to date to July of 1974 although there is information in the book that dates earlier. Inside the front pocket is a tag showing that this manual was No. 216 and assigned to the Agent at Hallam, Nebraska. This book offers a fascinating look at the Rock Island and its' station operations. Back corner of the binder is starting to split, but is still intact.

13 - Frisco and Missouri Pacific Stamped "Safety First" Faux Leather Squares - Caboose or Locomotive Seats

Pair of faux leather squares measuring 14" x 14" One with the mo-pac safety first eagle logo, the second with the Frisco herald. Both are assumed to be replacement patches for locomotive or caboose seats and appear to be unused. See photos for best description.

14 - Burlington / CB&Q Fuel / Oil Can w/ Spout - Serif font CB&Q ICC2A

Can measures 9" in diameter by approximately 13" tall. Tag affixed which is stamped CB&Q RR CO ICC2A in serif font. Can has some rust on the underside but no complete rust through and also minor denting. See photos for best description.

15 - CB&Q 1960 Burlington Pioneer Zephyr Final Run - Souvenir Ticket, Photograph, and Traffic Manager Letter

Great group of framed paper from the final run of the Burlington Pioneer Zephyr. The most interesting is a letter dated March 18, 1960 from W.F. Burke the traffic manager which was addressed to Conductors, Enginemen, and Transportation Department Representatives. The letter discusses the schedule and photography locations for the final run of the Zephyr. Also included is a 10 1/4" x 8 1/4" framed photo of the last run of the Zephyr from Bill Kratville taken at Plattsmouth Nebraska. Finally a souvenir ticket from the last run is also included. Frames both have some minor wear and damage but all three documents are in good condition. See photos for best description.

16 - Square Body Railroad Hand Torch with Wooden Handle

Square steel body measures 4 1/4" by 4 3/4" tall. Canister also has a turned wooden handle which measures 8 1/2" long. No rust through or notable condition issues.

17 - Dressel Kansas City Terminal Railway Clear Globe Lantern with Number Tag

Dressel short globe lantern. Stamped KCTRy Co. with brass 34 tag soldered to the shoulder. Clear globe CNX Adlake Kero globe with minor chipping around the rims. Burner pot and fount are intact. Lantern has been sandblasted but no rust through, great restoration candidate. Bale has been modified for hanging. See photos for best description.

18 - CB&Q / Burlington Railroad 1973 Budd Stainless Steel Rebuilt Car Plate

Plate reads "Designed and Built for Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Co. Rebuilt for West Suburban Mass Transit District" This district existed in Chicago pre METRA. Plate measures 7" x 3 1/2" and is in very good condition.

19 - Five Locomotive Operating / Maintenance Manuals - Baldwin 1000 HP - 1947, Alco 660 HP, EMD F7, EMD GP-9, Alco 1500 HP

Group of manuals includes 1944 Baldwin 1000 HP switcher manual with an inner page that shows this was assigned to the CB&Q Railroad and covered their locomotives with road numbers 9350-9370. Well over 200 pages. Also included is an Alco 660-HP switcher operating manual, EMD TS02 F7 and FP7 troubleshooting manual, EMD January 1954 GP-9 operating manual, and Alco 1947 1500-HP road locomotive operating manual. All in good condition with typical age related wear.

20 - Amtrak Navy Blue Conductors Uniform - Coat, Vest, and Pants w/ Amtrak Buttons

Coat made by Image Wear and is a 40L, vest by Image Wear with some staining on the reverse, and the Pants are from Executive Service and are size 34. All Amtrak buttons intact on coat and vest. See photos for best description.

21 - Tall Railroad Oiling Can Johnson Urbana - CB&Q Marked

Oiling can measuring approximately 30 1/4" tall. Can is in original condition and embossed Johnson Urbana O. on the underside and stamped with CB&Q RR CO in serif font. Can has minor rust on the underside but no holes.

22 - Union Pacific Tall Oiling Can

Oiling can measuring approximately 30 1/4" tall. Can is stamped with UP on the side and is otherwise unmarked. Can has been painted black, but the paint appears to be original and in good condition. Can has some denting in the body and dome.

23 - Burlington Northern Framed "Notice to Trespassers" Billboard Flyer

Form is dated 10-74 and is marked with Burlington Northern Railroad Company. Frame measures 12" x 16", the flyer measures 11" x 14". Flyer is unused and appears to be in like new condition.

24 - Metal "End Double Track" Railroad Sign

Metal sign w/ reflective vinyl measuring 20" x 17". Mild / moderate wear from outdoor use, See photos for best description.

25 - CB&Q / Burlington Pioneer / Denver Zephyr Framed Memorabilia Lot - 1942 Advertisement, Museum of Science and Industry, 1936 Pocket Calendar, and More

Lot includes Johnny Mercer / Jimmy Van Heusen sheet music for "I Thought About You" with the Denver Zephyr on the front, framed CB&Q United States Map and Vacation Guide featuring the Zephyr, 1936 / 1937 pocket calendar included in the same frame, framed photo of the Pioneer Zephyr on display outside the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry along with the U505 submarine, and a framed 1942 advertisement from the Crete, Nebraska newspaper announce Pioneer Zephyr service between McCook-Crete-and Lincoln. Group all in good condition, some frames with minor wear. See photos for best description.

26 - Pair of Western Fruit Express 1971 Aluminum Trust Plates

Plates measure 12 3/4" x 5" and are both from 1971 Series X trust with the Riggs National Bank. Plates have mild wear and appear to have been sandblasted on the front at one time. The rears retain some of the original paint.

27 - CB&Q / Burlington Railroad Standard Bill of Materials for Turnouts Book and Framed Turnout Plan

Book for turnout plans appears to be complete with dates ranging from the late 1940's through the mid 1960's. The turnout blueprint measures 16" x 11" and is dated 1947. Print is for the 100-110-112 turnout. See photos for best description.

28 - Adlake Kero Milwaukee Road Amber Globe Lantern

Shoulder is embossed with CMSTP&P. Globe is an Adlake Kero amber CNX globe with very clean rims. Burner pot is present and complete. Clean lantern with very minor denting and wear.

29 - Western Railroad Supply 1870 Switch Lantern with Porcelain Day Targets

Cast aluminum switch lamp with red and green lenses and two red porcelain day targets Targets have some wear and chipping. The top of the body has been stenciled with "REC.". See photos for best description.

30 - Adlake / CB&Q Railroad 882 Lock / Hinge w/ Key

Cast hinge and mounting plate w/ CB&Q Adlake 882 cast into the body. Lock mechanism opens with a Burlington Route Adlake switch key which is included. The key has moderate wear to the barrel but still operates the lock. See photos for best description.

31 - Russell J. Hogg No. 2 Trade Stimulator Stamp Set in Wooden Case

Wooden case measures 18" x 10 1/2" with a crack in the lid and one missing hinge clasp. The stamp set appears to be complete with 26 letters, 10 numbers, and 16 additional punctuation stamps. The interior of the lid retains it's label, but was also used to test the stamps over the years. See photos for best description. This set came out of the inventory of a closed railroad depot.

32 - Illinois Central Railroad Stainless Steel Trust Plate

Plate measures 20" x 5" and is from the Illinois Central Equipment Trust Series 43. Minor wear at the corners and edges. Minor scratching in the field. See photos for best description.

33 - CB&Q / Burlington Route Aluminum Sign

Sign measures 11 1/4" x 9". Sign overall has light wear and is made of reflective material.

34 - CB&Q / Burlington Railroad 3" Hex Nut Wrench

Wrench is for a 3" hex nut and is cast with CB&Q in the handle. Measures 23" long.

35 - CB&Q / Burlington Railroad Cadwell Cover Golf Balls and Ball Markers in Original Box

This is a neat set of Burlington golf balls with Cadwell covers. Includes four factory sealed sets of two balls. The ball set boxes read, "Keep Your Eye on the Ball and on Burlington" There are also ten Burlington Route marked ball markers in the box. Also includes the original master cardboard box measuring 7 1/8" x 5 3/8. The box is marked with the Burlington Route herald on the lid and Burlington Route One Dozen Golf Balls on the side. Carton has light corner wear, but is in great condition for the age.

36 - 250+ Railroad Car Seal Collection

Car seal group including a binder with 180+ unique railroad door seals. Includes railroads all over the country that would have passed cars through central Nebraska. Also includes ordinance depots, lumber mills, grain mills, and more. Also included is a large bundle of unused Burlington Northern door seals. See photos for best description. Also included is a 1927 Burlington Car Seals application booklet.

37 - W&B Union Pacific Railroad 15" Pipe / Adjustable Wrench

Wrench is stamped with UNION PACFIC on the head and measures 15" long. W&B cast into the handle. Shows typical tool usage.

38 - Burlington Route / CB&Q Diesel Diagrams Booklet

Booklet has two dates written inside the cover including 1956 and 1962. Includes a number of diesel locomotive diagrams including EMD, Alcos, and Baldwin all used by the Burlington. Covers have some mild wear, but the booklet appears to be complete.

39 - 1946 Railroad Car Builders' Cyclopedia 17th Edition - Original

Original printing from 1946. Cover has mild wear but is complete and intact.

40 - General Fire Guard Pullman Co. Brass Fire Extinguisher w/ Wall Mount

Extinguisher is embossed with The Pullman Co. on the side above the informational plate. The plate is loose but included as well as the original wall mount. Brass has some tarnish and mild wear, but no dents or notable issues.

41 - 1928 Railroad Car Builders' Cyclopedia 12th Edition - Original

Original printing from 1928. Cover has mild wear and some light delamination of the cover material but is complete and intact.

42 - Wooden Railroad Journal Box Fire Rack w/ Blazer Dry Chemical Canisters

Wooden rack measures 15 1/2" x 6 3/4" and is stenciled w/ "For Journal Box Fires" Includes three canisters of Blazer dry chemical which are heavily faded but still full. See photos for best description.

43 - Missouri Pacific Railroad Porcelain Spitoon

Retains the original MO. PAC. stencil on the original white porcelain. There is a moderate chipping on the interior and around the edge, but the lettering is clean. 8 1/2" diameter and 4 3/4" tall.

44 - CB&Q / Burlington Handy Folding Bucket / Pail

Collapsible bucket which has been stenciled C.B&Q. on the side with the Handy stencil on the underside of the bucket. The material has minor staining, but no holes and is in good condition.

45 - CB&Q / Burlington Johnson Urbana Kerosene Canister

Can is marked with the Johnson Urbana diamond logo on the underside of the canister along with CB&Q RR CO stamped into the underside. Can has moderate denting in the lid. See photos for best description. Can is 8 1/4" tall by 11" wide.

46 - Union Pacific Flagman Kit

Union Pacific Railroad Flagman Kit Union Pacific Railroad Flagman Kit. Includes the original flag and the kit is stamped UPRR. Kit is empty except for the flag. See photos for best description.

47 - 1920's / 30's Seabury & Johnson CB&Q / Burlington First Aid Kit - Complete in Painted Box

Nice Seabury & Johnson Burlington first aid kit in metal painted box. Patent dates on the items in the kit date as early as 1924 with paper in the kit dated as late as 1931. The metal box has a nice Burlington Route Safety First herald with C.B&Q. Railroad. The side has been stenciled 3805. There are some small areas of paint loss, but the kit is overall in nice condition. The contents of the kit appear to be complete and unused with many items marked with Seabury & Johnson along with Bauer & Black. Some items in the kit are marked especially made for C.B&Q. R.R. .

48 - Metal Railroad Fusee and Torpedo Holder

Measures 23" x 8" x 4". Mild paint wear and light rust. See photos for best description.

49 - Pullman Company Deodorizer Crock

Crock jug measures approximately 5 1/2" in diameter and 9 1/2" tall. Includes cork stopper. Jug is in very good condition with only light wear. No chips, cracks, or breaks.

50 - Union Pacific CS 1 Switch Lock w/ Adlake Union Pacific Key

Brass heart shaped lock cast with Union Pacific in panel along with Switch CS 1. Includes UP Adlake marked key which does operate the lock. Silver paint overspray on the lock body. Some original links of chain included.

51 - Norfolk and Western Railway Heart Shaped Brass Lock w/ Key

Norfolk and Western Railway Heart Shaped Brass Lock w/ Key Front of the body cast w/ N&W RY Co. Shackle is stamped Slaymaker, Lancaster PA. The key has heavy pocket wear and has been polished, the remnants of the Adlake makers mark is on the reverse. The key does operate the lock. Some original chain attached.

52 - Hansl Manufacturing Rock Island Brass Heart Shaped Lock w/ Key

Lock shackle stamped with CRI&PRR on the front with HANSL MFG CO stamped on the reverse. Includes Adlake marked key with serial number 57036. The front of the key hilt is stamped CRI&P and does operate the lock. The key has light wear at the top of the hilt with strong lettering.

53 - Loeffelholz Brass Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway Switch Lock with Key

Lock shackle is stamped with Milwaukee on the front and Loeffelholz on the reverse. The front panel on the lock body is stamped with CM&StP Ry S. A key stamped with CM&ST P RR is also included and does operate the lock. There are original links of chain attached The lock body has minor marks and wear from age, but no major issues.

54 - 1936 "Warning to Passengers" Railroad Sign in Wooden Frame

Sign is marked Form 854 and dated 8-5-36. Warns passengers from standing on platform or any part of the train not intended for passengers. Also warns against spitting or throwing of refuse in the passenger cars. Wooden frame measures 12 1/2" x 9 1/2". Two tapered mounting holes in the sides of the frame.

55 - CB&Q / Burlington Railroad J.J. Grier Painted Metal Sign

Sign reads, "NO.3 Maintained and Operated by J.J. Grier". Sign measures 8" x 5" and is hand painted. J.J. Grier was the hotel company that served the CB&Q, Rock Island, and others. Sign has minor chipping at the edges and corners, but has a very nice field.

56 - Pair of Western Union Mainline Telegraph Sounders - One Marked CB&Q

Both sounders mounted on wooden boards with WUTEL CO. MAINLINE SOUNDER. One sounder is a 30 Ohm with CB&Q stamped on the edge of the board. The second sounder is 120 OHMS and is unmarked. The 120 Ohm sounder has a bent set screw on the top, otherwise both sounders are in good condition.

57 - Vibroplex Bug Telegraph Key - Serial Number 189597

Key is in very good condition with light dust and dirt, but the wrinkle finish paint is nice along with the brass identification plate. Serial number is 189597.

58 - General Electric U33C Burlington Northern #5756 Builders Plate

Locomotive started life as Burlington Northern #5756 which was retired in 1986. Plate has a build date of SEPT 1971. Serial number is 37993. Plate is in good condition with some edge wear. Two broken rivet holes.

59 - CB&Q / Burlington #5357 2-8-2 Steam Locomotive - Framed 1955 Photograph - Lincoln, Nebraska

Frame measures 18" x 13". Information written on the verso which dates the photo to 1955 in Lincoln, NE. The locomotive was scrapped in 1960. See photos for best description.

60 - Group of Four Mac-Meth Railroad Ticket Punches

Four punches each with a unique shape and all marked Mac Meth. All punches seem to be in good order with only some minor spots of flash rust in the group. See photos for best description.

61 - W.B. Young Supply Co. 4 1/2" Brass Altitude Gauge

Overall gauge diameter of 5 3/4" inches. Gauge face reads W.B. Young Supply Co. Kansas City. MO. Height of Water in Feet. The patent date is MAR 24 03. Gauge has a slight dents in the brass bezel and is in otherwise good condition. See photos for best description.

62 - Burlington & Missouri River Railroad - 1900 Wyoming Division Employee Timetable - Framed

Timetable from the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad Wyoming Division. The table is No. 74 and is dated April 29, 1900. The table is in excellent condition and has been framed. No rips or tears visible on the cover. See photos for best description.

63 - Missouri Pacific Railroad - Permanent Sign & Display Co. Calendar

Hanging Calendar measuring 12 1/2" x 19". Features the Missouri Pacific Eagle passenger train. Includes a complete set of 16 date cards and 3 month cards. The cards have light to mild wear, some with minor rips or tears. The calendar has mild wear including minor scuffs and some minor paint splatters and stains. The calendar might be able to be carefully cleaned to better condition. See photos for best description.

64 - Railway Express Agency Leather & Canvas Messenger Bag

Bag measures approximately 14" x 15" and is stenciled with RY. EX. AGY. Leather is in good condition, some of the stitching on the strap is breaking but is about 80% intact.

65 - Railway Express Agency Porcelain Sign

Sign measures 8" square and has moderate spots of chipping with rust underneath. The remaining areas in the field retain nice color and gloss. See photos for best description.

66 - Dietz Acme Inspector Lamp

Body and fount of the lamp are in original condition with good paint and light use. Some minor areas of light rust or paint loss. Body is very straight with no major dents or dings. No railroad markings.

67 - Metal "Track 3" Railroad Station Platform Sign - Painted

Sign measures 14" square and has a nice patina to the original paint.

68 - Northern Pacific Steel Watering Can

Can measures 8 3/4" in diameter and 14" tall. Embossed with NP RY on the side. Wooden handle present. Some minor denting on the dome of the can with the lid intact.

Sealer stamps, " REA Express Lincoln NEBR." Circular brass seal with light wear on the handle.

73 - Adams Express Company Brass Messenger Sealer

Sealer stamps, " Adams Express Company Messenger 9599." Circular brass seal with metal handle.

74 - Hand Painted Masonite "Freight Office" Railroad Depot Sign

Sign measures 18" x 4 1/2" and is hand painted. Sign has six small mounting holes and shows light wear.

75 - Union Pacific Wool Red Cap Beret

10" 100% wool beret with a woven Union Pacific Railroad patch stitched to the beret. Judging from the style and printing, it is estimated that this cap dates from the 1950's or 1960's. The cap appears to be unused and is in very nice condition. See photos for best description.

76 - Railway Express Agency Hat w/ Badge and Buttons

Size 7 1/8 and made by the Eastern Uniform Cap Manufacturing Company. Hat has a 2 1/2" rip in one side and some small holes as well as rodent damage to the inner cardboard tag. Includes a pin back brass / enamel Railway Express Agency 15403 badge and two Railway Express Agency X buttons.

77 - Eight Packs of CB&Q / Burlington Railroad Playing Cars and Gin Rummy Score Sheet

Card packs include Burlington Vista Dome Zephyr w/ horses, Burlington Vista Dome Zephyr w/ E units, Burlington Zephyr w/ 1935 sketch, Burlington Zephyr America's Distinctive Train, Red ban logo and blue ban logo Burlington Route packs, Burlington Route Dining Car Service pack, 1960's sealed pack with freight and passenger locomotives along with steam, and an unused Burlington Route Gin Rummy score pad. Packs show light to moderate wear. Gin Rummy sheets are like new.

78 - Cast Iron Union Pacific Railroad BMI Engine Torch

Cast iron engine / hand torch cast with Engine Torch cast in one side, BMI Co cast in the other, and UP RR cast near the top. Very good condition with light signs of use and light flash rust spots. 14" tall by 2" in diameter.

79 - Adams and Westlake Wabash Railroad Marked Clear Globe No. 250 Lantern

Adams & Westlake embossed top along with Wabash Ry. Includes a clean Kopp clear short globe with clean edges and an Adlake marked burner. See photos for best description.

80 - Handlan Missouri Pacific Lantern w/ Red Etched Globe

Top of the lantern is embossed Handlan St. Louis with MOPAC embossed into the shoulder. Equipped with a Handlan 6 marked globe with MoPac etched in small lettering on one side. Clean edges. Globe measures 4 1/2" tall. Outside wick raiser and burner pot intact. Some small areas of rust inside the body, but no rust through and only typical age wear on the outside.

81 - Keystone Stereoscope No. 40 Home Training Service w/ Original Box and More

Includes like new Keystone Eye Comfort stereoscope, comparison of scales instruction sheet, Keystone eye-comfort training instruction booklet, twelve eye comfort series stereoscope cards, and the original box. The box has two split corners and some creasing on the top, but is otherwise clean and legible.

82 - White Flame Light Company Union Pacific Railroad Wall Lamp

Lamp is embossed with UP RR on the back of the lamp and is equipped with a White Flame fount and burner assembly. Two minor stress cracks in the metal on the rear of the lamp, clean fuel tank, and clean globe.

83 - 58" x 84" Pullman 1 Wool Blanket

58" x 84" Pullman wool blanket. Minor holes throughout but the logo is nearly perfect. See photos for best description.

86 - Adams & Westlake Rock Island Lines No. 207 Convertible Semaphore Lamp - Electrified

Lamp has a modified chimney and is embossed with Rock Island Lines on the shoulder. The lamp has one blank out plate and has been converted to electric light by the railroad. The burner assembly is gone, but the electric conversion was likely done in the 1940's or 50's.

87 - Adams & Westlake Burlington / CB&Q No. 1221 Caboose Right Marker Lamp w/ Electric & Fuel Light Source

Lamp is marked with with a B.R. embossed tag and RIGHT embossed tag. This lamp is equipped with an electric pig tail and lamp base which is mounted to the top of the fuel tank / fount. The lamp is still equipped with an outside wick raiser. Lamp shows typical outdoor age wear, but no major condition issues.

88 - Adams & Westlake Union Pacific Caboose Lamp - Restored & Electrified

Lamp is marked with an embossed U.P. tag on the shoulder and is equipped with two red and two green lenses. The burner has been replaced with an electric lamp socket which does appear to have been done by the railroad. Lamp body has been repainted. No notable condition issues.

89 - Handlan Railroad Switch Lamp w/ Day Targets - Lamp Conversion

Handlan switch lamp that has had an electric lamp conversion added. Hole drilled in the top to facilitate the lamp hardware. Day targets have vinyl reflective material added. See photos for best description.

92 - Stainless Steel General Motors / Electo-Motive Division Railroad Locomotive Trust Plate

Plate measures 22" x 7" and is assigned to the First National Bank of Chicago by General Motors. Plate has a slight bend and some excess silver paint on the edges.

93 - CB&Q / Burlington Railroad Stainless Steel Trust Plate - 1956 J.P Morgan

Plate measures 17 1/4" x 6" Assigned to trust No. 1 of 1956 managed by J.P. Morgan & Co. Plate has light wear at the edges and around the mounting holes. Minor scuffs and scratches in the field of the plate.

94 - Adams & Westlake "The Adams" Rock Island Lines Clear Globe Lantern

Lantern is embossed with "The Adams" on the top with a last patent date of August 1892 embossed in the shoulder rim. Twist off burner pot and fount are complete. A CNX clear globe with "ROCK ISLAND LINES" cast in rectangular panel with rounded corners. Globe edges are clean with no notable chips, cracks, or breaks. The lantern lid is missing the latch, and the body has an older coat of silver paint, but is otherwise nice with no major condition issues.

95 - C.T. Ham No. 39 Double Wire Guard / Bell Bottom Lantern w/ CNX RSA Green Globe - Etched CB&Q

CT Ham No. 39 lantern with older paint under the lid and under the bell bottom. Twist off burner pot is present but has been converted to an electric lamp base. The patent date around the base of the locomotive is December of 1893. The bell bottom also has faint lettering which reads NHM&W which would have been the New Haven, Middletown & Willimantic. The globe is a CNX tall globe in RSA green and etched with C.B&Q. The globe does have a few minor rim chips and light scratches. Globe measures 5 1/4" tall.

96 - Four CB&Q / Burlington McCook Division / Nebraska Division Employee Timetables - 1918, 1919, 1920, 1923

Four employee timetables including No. 11 June 2, 1918, No. 16 November 30th, 1919, No. 18 October 31, 1920, and No. 24 October 28. 1923 (spine has been hole punched) All four appear to be complete with only minor rips and tears at the edges. See photos for best description.

97 - Partial Burlington Route Bus Depot Porcelain Sign

Sign has had about half of the sign cut off and now measures 11" wide by 9 1/2" tall. The cut line is rough and took some porcelain with it. The remaining porcelain is in really nice condition with great gloss, this is still a nice display piece, but certainly would have been an incredible sign if it had been left alone.

98 - Plume & Atwood Lantern w/ Diffuser Shade

Plume & Atwood lantern with P&A marked wick raiser wheel. Lantern is missing the globe and has been sandblasted. Drop out burner. No additional markings. See photos for best description.

99 - Lunkenheimer 13 1/2" Steam Whistle

Whistle has a 1" diameter pipe inlet. Whistle measures 13 1/2" tall and the valve is stamped with 3 1200 on one side and Lunkenheimer on the other side. The whistle is a single chime and in nice condition with only minor nicks and scrapes, no dents or other issues. The valve moves freely.

100 - Bunnell Baltimore and Ohio Telegraph Key and Sounder

Key is stamped with the Bunnell S logo and B.&O. R.R. on leg of the key. The sounder appears to have an 1895 patent date. Both are mounted to a wooden board with a green felt backing. The board measures 6 1/2" by 12 3/4".

101 - Mesco United States Navy Telegraph Key

Key base is stamped with the oval Mesco logo, 31, Cam 809, and US with an anchor. Key is mounted to a wooden base and is in good condition.

102 - Baltimore and Ohio Centenary / Colonial Lamberton Harpers Ferry Dinner Plate

Plate measures 10 1/2" in diameter. The reverse marked with the Lamberton design patented mark. Plate is in excellent condition with no marks other than the factory marks in the glaze.

103 - Baltimore and Ohio Centenary / Colonial Lamberton Cheat River Celery Tray

Tray measures 12 1/2" x 5 7/8". Marked with the Lamberton design patented mark on the reverse. The front of the tray is in like new condition. The reverse has some minor wear along the edge that would rest against the surface. No chips, cracks, or breaks.

104 - Baltimore and Ohio Centenary / Colonial Shenango Cumberland Narrows 11 1/2" Platter

Platter is marked with two markings on the reverse including the Shenango China USA mark and Baltimore and Ohio Shenango mark. Also marked O-30 and 75. Platter is in like new condition with only light marks in the glaze from the factory production process.

105 - Baltimore and Ohio Railroad H.P. Chandlee 12 1/4" Derby Platter

Reverse is marked with the Made for B&O H.P. Chandlee Son Co. mark. The platter is in very good condition. There are the typical factory glaze marks on the reverse. The front appears to have a factory defect in the glaze which has left a minor depression in the lower right corner. See photos for best description.

Lot of Baltimore and Ohio paper including freight receipt dated August 11, 1876. Receipt appears to be for the shipment of goods from Baltimore for a total of $6.45. Some wear at the right edge, but an interesting receipt. Also included is an October 1957 Baltimore and Ohio condensed schedule timetable and New York to Washington pocket timetable.

Spur ash tray with enamel Burlington Route herald on the top. Also included is two variations of the branding iron glass tray. One tray has gold branding irons and one band of brands around the rim. The second tray has yellow branding irons and two bands of brands around the outside. The gold has light wear, otherwise the trays are in very good condition. The spur ash tray has minor nicks and scrapes.

131 - Six Syracuse and Shenango CB&Q Violets and Daisies Coffee Cups and Saucers

Group includes three Syracuse cups marked 100-E and two marked 89. Wear and spotting on all three cups, but no chips, cracks, or breaks. Three 6" saucers, one Shenango stamped O 85, Syracuse 98-H with crows foot on both sides, and Syracuse 7-KK. All three saucers have mild wear and some light marks, no notable chips.

Reed and Barton Silver Soldered caddy. Back stamped with 442 with Burlington Route spelled out. Caddy has minor pitting on the bottom of where the shakers sit, otherwise a clean example.

141 - Burlington / CB&Q Blackhawk Bauscher 10 3/8" Dinner Plate

This plate is a tough plate to find with really great markings. This plate however has one notable drawback and that is a 7/8" long chip around one rim of the plate. The plate has nice gold banding and only minor utensil marks on the front. The reverse has a Bauscher 1929 back stamp. A great opportunity to add a nice plate to your collection.

142 - Reed and Barton Silver Soldered Burlington Route 14 Oz. Creamer

Back stamped with 3700 B3 14 OZ. Property of C.B. & Q. R.R. CO. and 63. The creamer is stamped on the side with the "BR" herald. Creamer has a fair number of small nicks, but no other notable issues such as notable dents.

Neither piece has back stamps. The butter chip measures 3 1/2". Good pin stripes with only minor wear. The egg cup has a tiny chip on the lower edge measuring 1/8" Good Burlington herald and pin stripes, only minor wear from use.

146 - Reed and Barton Silver Soldered Burlington Route 5 1/4" Serving Bowl

Serving bowl has Burlington Route spelled out in a rectangular herald. The bowl is back stamped with 1343 2. The bowl has moderate pitting at the bottom of the bowl. The outside of the bowl is very clean with no real signs of wear. The bottom of the bowl does have 945 etched in the bottom which appears to be an inventory control number.

147 - Syracuse Burlington / CB&Q Aristocrat 8 1/2" Bowl

The bowl has nice pin stripes and a clean herald. The front is like new with no utensil wear, chips, cracks or breaks. The bowl is back stamped O.P. CO. Syracuse C-7. Only very light stacking wear on the underside.

The 3 1/4" plate is the cleaner of the two. One tiny dent noted in the 6 1/2" plate.

The handle has a notable 1" crack and minor denting in the handle along with a number of nick.

Three pieces include 10 1/4" Mayer oval platter. Back stamped with Mayer China, Soo Line herald, and furnished by G. Sommers and Co. Platter has some light utensil and stacking wear around the edges, no chips or cracks. Also included is two 9 7/8" plates back stamped with Mayer China and the Soo Line herald. One has moderate utensil wear, while the second is much nicer with light utensil wear and a few minor plate defects under the glaze.

165 - Union Pacific Railroad Harriman Blue- Top 9" Platter and 4" Bowl

Really clean example of this plate. Back stamped Shenango with "The Famous 400" Story and furnished by Arthur Schiller & Son. The plate has very faint stacking wear on the reverse. Great pinstripes and gold on the front with no utensil marks. A fine example of this beautiful pattern.

171 - American Association of Dining Car Superintendents 5th Semi-Annual Convention Syracuse 9 7/8" Plate

Really unusual Syracuse plate from the American Association of Dining Car Superintendents 5th Semi-Annual Convention. The stamp at the bottom of the plate has some fading and appears to read JAN 19 20 21 New York City 1903. I've viewed the stampings under a loop and believe with 95% certainty that these are the correct details. The plate itself is very clean with little if any utensil wear or stacking wear since this was a presentation plate. The gold pinstripe around the edge of the plate does have some wear from being handled over the years. A very scarce and unique plate.

Group of three pieces of china including Shenango Rock Island Golden Rocket 6" oval bowl with a few light utensil marks, Little Bohemia Walker 7 1/8" oval plate. Little Bohemia Lodge is located in Wisconsin and was the site of a famous gun battle between outlaw John Dillinger and the FBI. Plate is back stamped Walker China C-49, and a Wiechman & Hoffman General Merchandise 1909 calendar plate made by N.O. Co. Some light wear to the decoration and gold markings on the front of the plate. No notable chips, cracks or breaks in the group. Some very light marks noted.

250 - Group of Four Restored Railroad Oil / Kerosene Cans - Chicago and Northwestern and Milwaukee Road

Group includes Johnson stamped C&NW RY on the underside, cone shaped canister with C.&N-W.RY. embossed on the can, and a Johnson stamped can with CST. PM & O RY embossed into the can. A galvanized oil can is also included with no railroad markings. Three are restored and repainted. The galvanized can is original. Some denting noted.

251 - Reproduction Wooden Timetable Wall Rack

Rack measures 18"x31"x 2 1/2". Rack was offered in James Burchard in 1978 and was made by a retired master railroad cabinet maker according to the documents included. A very nice rack suitable for hanging and displaying your quality timetables.

252 - 1904 Knell Publishing Official Wisconsin Railroad Map

Map measures 43" x 34 1/2" and has minor rips near the top edge of the poster as well as tacks holding one edge of the top to its' wooden hanging strip. The map has some really interesting data including showing all of the major Wisconsin railroads as well as many of the short lines with their total rail miles noted. It also shows population density, value of manufactured products, and more. Printed by Knell Publishing Company.

Lithograph measures 15" x 10". Missing a 2 1/2" x 1/ 1/2" section at the corner as well as other small areas missing from the edge. Image measures 8 1/2" x 11" and features a railroad motor car and trailer along with seven safety rules. The sheet is in nice condition with one fold line and light creasing and wrinkles at the lower left corner. National Safety Counsel Inc. Chicago 5563 printed at the bottom of the sheet. Frame measures about an inch larger than the image.

258 - Burlington & Missouri River Railroad - 1897 Mayham Special Ribbon & Photographs- Record Run on the B&MR

A fascinating piece of Burlington and Missouri River Railroad history. These items are from a special train chartered in February of 1897. The train ran from Chicago Illinois to Denver Colorado - 1025 miles in 1047 minutes. There was only one passenger on the train, Mr. Henry Mayham who chartered the train to help him reach his dying son in Denver as quickly as possible. There is a short history written on the backing to which the photos and ribbon are mounted. The ribbon reads, " B.&M.R. in NEB. Mayham Special Feby 15, 1897 Engineer D. Magner Eng. 210 Hastings 10:045 P.M. McCook 12:15AM 131.6 Miles 130.5 Minutes" The photograph are sepia photos of 4-4-0 locomotive 210 and what is believed to be of Henry Mayham. Really unique items from a historical run. The ribbon has some wear and minor tearing of the fibers, the locomotive photo show minor cracking but both are intact.

259 - Milwaukee & Superior Railway September 30. 1900 Framed Timetable

Frame measures 18 1/2" x 17 3/4". The timetable measures approximately 9" x 8" This is timetable No. 27 dated September 30, 1900. According to the research that is included with the timetable, this was the final table for the Milwaukee & Superior and was published less than three weeks before the sale of the railroad to the Milwaukee Road. The matte has light moisture stains and the timetable itself has a few very faint moisture stains. No rips or tears, some light browning around the edges of the table. Group of three pieces of Burlington and Missouri River Railroad in Nebraska correspondence which has been framed. Includes an envelope and two pages with writing. The letter references the sale of a parcel of land to the railroad. The letters are dated November 17 1895. The letter is stamped with a George Washington carmine 2 cent stamp. Atlas has heavily worn cover and signs of moisture damage. The book has been dry for many years, but likely saw light moisture at one point in the past. The inside cover features advertising from the Northern Pacific and CB&Q. Includes a map and list of buildings for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. Appears to be missing a few pages such as the title page and table of contents from the inside. See photos for best description.

Timetable measures 9 3/4" x 8 3/4" Effective date of October 19, 1857. The table is in in good condition with light wrinkling and very tiny areas of wear around the edges. The frame is a store bought frame but it serves the purpose of protecting the timetable.

266 - CB&Q Railroad - Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition 1898 Photo Booklet

Booklet measures 7" x 5 1/2" and was published for the Burlington Route. Features photos of the 1898 expo in Omaha Nebraska. First and last pages are Burlington Omaha ticket office advertisements. Cover has a 1" tear and the book has light pencil writing on the cover and a few places on the interior.

Timetable No. 37 dated April 22, 1917. Measures 11" x 15". The table has folds and tape repairs at the intersections of the folds and at one edge. Also included is a form 26 Inflammable place card. The card is brand new and was never used. Nearly perfect condition. Card measures 14 1/2".

Pair of broadsheets including August 25, 1901 Rail & River Excursion to Grafton via Chicago & Alton, Quincy, Carrollton & St. Louis Ry., and City of Peoria steam ship. Frame measures 10" x 24" 1/2. Broadsheet has light creasing and a few small areas of tape on the corners. The unframed sheet Appears to be from May 1909 and is for the Spring Grand Excursion. Sheet has some corner wear and tears at the center crease. This sheet promotes excursions to Chicago via the Chicago & Alton.

Pass issued to W. J. Collett between Counsel Bluffs and Ogden on the Nebraska and Wyoming divisions of the railroad. Pass expired December 31, 1889. The reverse is signed and stamped with an issue date of Jan 4 1889. Collette was a postal clerk for the railroad. One slightly torn corner and some minor edge wear with small creases and tears. Two small stains on the reverse.

N.H. & H.R.R. on the shoulder Both the top and bell of the lantern have moderate denting. Body has a double wire guard. The clear globe measures 5 1/4" tall and has a 1" crack at the top. Globe is cast with NYNH&HRR and has a patent date of 1902 cast into the upper rim area.

R.R. on the underside, and Johnson 12" tall kerosene can stamped CB&Q RR CO in serif font near the fill lid. This can has a moderate dent on about a third of the can.

305 - Otto E. Hake Framed Burlington Pioneer Zephyr Print With Original Frame

Frame measures 21" x 23". The glass is printed with "America's First Diesel Streamline Train" and the print is nicely framed and matted with a correct vintage frame. There are other examples of this print in this frame, and I think it is safe to assume this was a railroad produced advertising piece.

Pullman Galvanized Bucket - Labeled, "For Ice Only" Top diameter of the bucket is 12 1/4". Strong paint and lettering with minor wear, no major denting. Burlington Route 12" top diameter bucket with Burlington Route embossed in the side. Some minor rust through at the bottom of the bucket, and a Johnson 11" diameter bucket embossed with CB&Q RR CO. No rust through or notable denting. Some light rust on the inside of the bucket from standing water. See photos for best description.

317 - Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad Okaw Viaduct Framed Builders Photgraph

Framed original photograph of the Okaw Viaduct also known as the Lake Shelbyville bridge near Kirksville Illinois in 1918. Includes information about the bridge including the contractor J.J. O'Heron. Frame measures 40 1/2" x 11 1/2" and appears to be an original frame from around the time the photo was produced. The frame is marked on the back with a sticker which reads Newcomb-Macklin Co. - Picture Frame Makers 400-408 N. State Street in Chicago.

318 - Adams & Westlake CB&Q / Burlington Caboose Right Marker Lamp - Electrified

Lamp is marked with an embossed B.R. tag on the shoulder with RIGHT tag on the other shoulder. Lamp is equipped with two red and two green lenses. The lamp is set up to run electric with kerosene as a backup. The fount and wick raiser are missing, but pot is a dual setup. Lamp is unrestored. See photos for best description.

Advertisement measures approximately 21 1/4" x 20 1/2" The ad is for The New Sunset Limited from New Orleans to Los Angeles. Poster is in good condition with 4 tiny wear spots and a few 1/4" to 1/2" tears at the edge. Some minor spotting on the left side of the poster. The frame is aftermarket and has a loose backing which will need repaired.

322 - Burlington & Missouri River Railroad Telegraph Key and CB&Q Mainline Sounder

Telegraph key is stamped with B.&M.R. and has light oxidation from age. The sounder is mounted to a 3" x 5" board with CB&Q stamped in one end and 300 OHMS C.B & Q Mainline Sounder 15-B on the other end. The sounder is stamped with a patent date of March 6, 1917. Both have been mounted to a larger wooden display board.

323 - Grif Teller 1949 Pennsylvania Railroad Rockville Bridge Framed Print

Frame measures 27 3/4" x 21 1/4" Appears to be screen printed with a Masonite backing. Has Grif Teller Copyright 1949 Pennsylvania Railroad. Print has darkened slightly with age, but is overall in good condition. See photos for best description.

324 - Veribrite Porcelain "Watch Your Step" Sign and Reproduction Ande Rooney Wells Fargo Porcelain Sign

Veribrite sign measures 21" x 3 1/4" and has some mild edge chipping and chipping around the eyelets. Sign is marked Veribrite on the lower edge on the back. The Wells Fargo & Co Express sign measures 11" and is a reproduction in like new condition.

325 - Adolph Heinze Santa Fe Railroad "Red Cliffs of Western New Mexico" Framed Advertising Print

Frame measures 31" x 22". Image is screen printed on cardboard and in good condition. Some noted condition issues include some scuff / light black marks at the upper left corner as well 1 3/4" x 3" depression on the left side where the cardboard had something heavy resting against it over the years. The frame is original with a small Santa Fe System Lines plaque. See photos for best description.

326 - 150 OHM Telegraph Relay - Likely J.H. Bunnell

Relay is on a cast iron base measuring 4 3/4" x 8" The wooden base on which the relay is mounted is slightly smaller. The base is stamped with 150 on the top. The backside has a faint ink stamping which we are unable to decipher. The relay has some light oxidation of the brass and the covers over the relay coils have broken from age. This is likely a J.H. Bunnell but is missing the plaque from the top of the base. See photos for best description.

327 - CB&Q / Burlington 4-4-2 Greyhound Builders Photograph Framed

A really nice turn of the century builders photograph featuring Baldwin built locomotive #1591. The photograph was take at Galesburg, Illinois by C.H. Osgood and measures approximately 24" x 11" The matting has separately applied Burlington Route heralds and the title of "A Burlington Greyhound" was applied directly to the matte. Under a loop a date of 1899 is present on multiple plates on the locomotive. It is assumed the photo and the frame date roughly to this time period. The frame has wear but is reasonably intact.

329 - Brooks Locomotive Works Port Dover and Lake Huron "Woodstock" 4-4-0 Locomotive Builders Photograph

Frame measures 22 3/4" x 17 3/4" The photograph was taken by Charles Pringle of Fredonia, New York and depicts the Port Dover and Lake Huron "Woodstock" 4-4-0 steam locomotive. The photograph has some tape repairs near the outside and light burn areas and mild moisture staining. We know that this photograph dates prior to 1901 but are unsure of the exact year. The photo was reframed at a later date.

331 - Louisville New Albany & Chicago Railroad - Michigan City Repair Shop - 1860 Traveler Locomotive Print

Frame measures 22 1/4" x 18 3/4" The print measures slightly smaller. There is a rosette pattern visible under a loupe. The print depicts the 4-4-0 Express Passenger Locomotive "Traveler" which was rebuilt at Michigan City in 1860 . The LNA&C would later become the Monon railroad. The print has some light moisture staining at the lower right corner and lower edge. The frame is showing mildew spotting along the edge.

332 - Group of Three Northern Pacific Railroad Cast Aluminum Trust Plates

Group includes 1963 plate measuring 15 7/8" x 5" with FA-59 cast in the corner, 1952 plate measuring 13" x 4" with FA-15 cast into the corner, and 1966 plate measuring 12" x 5" with FA-75 cast in the corner. Plates are all clean with good bolt holes.

333 - Howard Fogg Monon, The Rock, and Chicago and Northwestern Framed Prints

The Rock Frame measures 22 1/2" x 18 1/2" (The print has a crease down 1/3 running from top to bottom), Monon frame measures 22 1/2" x 22 1/2" and has some mild staining spots throughout the print. The Chicago and Northwestern frame measures 18" x 13 1/4" See photos for best description.

Ad measures 11" x 7 1/4" and appears to be an advertisement for riding the West Haven street cars to F.A. Norton & Company. Advertisement is printed on cardboard and die cut to the shape of the street car. There is a crease / tear through the left center of the car and minor wear and small rips at both the bottom left and upper right corner. Assumed to be a late 1800's advertisement, but we are unable to located much information about the ad.

Sign has a slight crease through the herald and a moderate rip and crease through the right edge which upon mounting in the frame has made it less noticeable. See photos for best description.

F&PM broadsheet promoting reduced fares during the week of Christmas 1897 into New Year of 1898. Sheet is framed and matted. The frame measures 14" x 24". The sheet has staining along the majority of the left edge and one light crease towards the center. Otherwise a clean broadsheet with a festive appearance.

340 - General Electric B39-8 Diesel Locomotive Builders Plate - LMX Leasing 45458

Locomotive started life as an LMX leasing locomotive. Plate has a build date of OCT 1987. Serial number is 45458. Plate is in good condition with some edge wear. Four of the six rivet holes have been broken out.

341 - Chicago, Peoria & St. Louis Railroad - April 1922 Fuel Shortage / Financial Notification

An interesting notification from April 4, 1922 posted by the Chicago, Peoria & St. Louis Railroad regarding it's inability to continue to run its' scheduled trains due to lack of financial capitol and shortage of fuel. See the photos to read the full statement. Frame measures 17 1/2" x 23 1/2". The sheet has four creases where it was folded in half and then again, otherwise no notable rips or tears.

342 - New York Central Railroad Train No. 26 - 20th Century Limited - Destination Roll

Wow! Check out this outstanding destination roll from the New York Central 20th Century Limited. This roll reads, "New York Central Train No. 26 4:30 PM Central Standard Time New York Grand Central Terminal No Visitors Allowed Through Gate" Roll measures approximately 21" x 48" Outside of the roll has N.Y.C 26 4:30 PM written on it. This roll came from Chicago La Salle Street Station. Some light discoloration at the top of the roll which might clean. There are signs that this roll was painted over from a previous train in its' later years and was re-lettered.

343 - Chicago and Northwestern Railway - Notice to Passengers

Chicago and Northwestern notice to passengers about the dangers of moving about while the train is in motion or putting their heads out the window. In what appears to be an original wood wall mount frame. Frame measures 16" x 13" with four mounting holes. Sign has some mild staining and dirt but no rips or tears. Frame also shows light wear.

Destination roll from the New York Central train No. 22 or #305 which had a first stop of Englewood Illinois and terminated in Blue Island Illinois. This roll came from Chicago La Salle Street Station. There is minor cracking of the paint at the top of the roll. There are signs that this roll was painted over from a previous train in its later years and was re-lettered. Outside of the roll has N.Y.C. No. 22 written on it as well as #305 M Line 5:23PM. Roll measures approximately 20" x 48"

Framed poster warning about trespassing on railway property with an effective date of September 1, 1917. Poster is not marked for a specific railroad. Frame measures 16 3/4" x 22" One crease which appears to be factory along the top third of the poster, otherwise clean.

346 - Destination roll from the Rock Island Railroad train No. 5 "The Rock Island Rocket"

Destination roll from the Rock Island railroad train No. 5 "The Rock Island Rocket". This roll came from Chicago La Salle Street Station. There is cracking of the paint at the top of the roll in the words Rock Island. There is also a 2 1/2" tear in the fabric near the "I" in island. Outside of the roll has No. 5 Rocket 5:00 PM. Roll measures approximately 20 1/2" x 44"

347 - Union Pacific Railroad - Through Kansas and Nebraska - Advertising Poster - Matthews, Northrup & Co.

Poster measures approximately 14" x 22" The poster reads, "The Union Pacific Railway Through Kansas and Nebraska to All Points East" Features images of Mt. of the Holy Cross and Rocky Mountain elk. The poster has small areas (1/2" to 1 3/4") of missing material at three of the four corners. Also has some creasing at the center where the poster was folded at one time. The bottom reads Designed, Engraved, and Printed by Matthews, Northrup & Co. Office of "The Morning Express," Buffalo, N.Y. Some fading of the color and also minor water spotting throughout.

348 - Destination Roll From New York Central Railroad Train No. 222

Destination roll from the New York Central train No. 222 which had a first stop of LaPorte, Indinaa and terminated in Buffalo New York. Likely this roll came from Chicago La Salle Street Station. The top of the roll is missing it's steel hanging bar and has one minor electrical tape repair to the upper right corner. There are signs that this roll was painted over from a previous train in its later years and was re-lettered. In later years train 222 was known as 222-50 and became the famous Empire State Express once the train reached Albany. Outside of the roll has N.Y.C. # 222 12:45AM. Roll measures approximately 20 1/2" x 44"

349 - Rock Island Lines "Golden State Limited" Advertising Poster

Framed advertising poster with the frame measuring 43 1/4" x 27 1/4" The visible image measures 29 1/4" x 13 1/4". Poster retains it original wooden frame though the backing has been replaced. Original plaque attached which reads, "Golden State Limited - Rock Island Lines" in addition the major cities served are noted on the plaque. The image is clean for the age with light yellowing and very minor cracking appearing under a loupe.

350 - Illinois Terminal Railroad Wooden Angled Speed Reduction Sign

Sign measures 41" x 7 1/2" . Shows reduction in speed from 35 to 25 MPH. Written in small lettering on the back is Illinois Terminal - Maron, IL. Nice clean sign. See photos for best description.

351 - Framed Chicago and Northwestern System Decal

A really nice example of the Chicago and Northwestern System herald mounted to glass and framed. The decal measures 18" x 13". This decal was likely new old stock and mounted new. The frame measures 25 1/4" Information on the verso notes that this was framed in 1971 and that the word system was only used by the Northwestern from 1944-1957.

352 - J.H. Bonnell 120 Ohm Telegraph Sounder

Sounder appears to have only been lightly used, however the sounder is missing three screws and the spacers between the sounder and the board. Also missing the air gap set screw. See photos for best description.

Desk mount is in original condition and shows paint wear from age. The wooden top is in good condition. The board for the sounder is stamped B&MR. Sheet measures 21 3/4" x 8". Sheet advertising two half fare excursions to Kansas, Nebraska, Texas and Arkansas. The sheet has a minor rip at the top center and some light fading from sun exposure. The sheet is otherwise clean with no other creases or rips. Printed by Rand, McNally & Co. Frame has minor chipping.

364 - California Zephyr Stainless Steel Number Plate, Porcelain Oval Sign, and Burlington Route Porcelain Sign

A really great set of California Zephyr signage. The reverse of two of these pieces are marked "S. Solar" which we believe stands for Silver Solarium a well known CB&Q dome observation car built by Budd in 1948. This group includes 11 3/4" x 3 1/4" CZ-22 stainless steel number plate, 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" enameled Burlington Route herald (Some chipping and light rust on the reverse), and 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" oval porcelain sign which reads California Zephyr. The oval sign is weathered and has moderate chipping but is still very legible.

365 - American Locomotive Company / Alco Union Pacific 4-12-2 # 9054 Framed Builders Photograph

Original framed Alco builders photograph with American Locomotive Company New York matte. Shows Union Pacific 4-12-2 #9054 after completion. The photo shows some signs of mild water damage on the #4 driver and just behind the trailing truck wheel. The matte also shows some mild water staining. Frame measures 29 1/2" x 15 1/2"

366 - Missouri Pacific Railroad Gelharr Cap w/ Saw Tooth Agent Badge and MP Buttons

M.J. Gelhaar of Kansas City Missouri Pacific Agent cap. The cap is well worn and has had moisture exposure over the years. The Gelhaar makers mark is still visible inside the cap. The brim of the cap has started to loose its' covering in spots and the thread is starting to wear on the sides of the cap. The jewel here is the Missouri Pacific Agent badge with the sawtooth Missouri Pacific Lines red enameled logo. The badge has a pebbled background. The side buttons are both embossed with Mo.P. Cap likely dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's. See photos for best description.

367 - Old Colony Railroad 1878 Theater Train Advertising Broadsheet / Poster

Frame measures 17 1/2" x 25 1/4" Poster is for the Old Colony Railroad which ran in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Dated for a theater train which was scheduled to run on January 25, 1878. Poster has a 4" long section missing on the right edge, 2" long section missing in the middle, and a smaller 1/4" hole in the middle. Poster shows four folds and light dirt.

Sign measures 56" x 6" and is reflective vinyl on galvanize steel. Slight bend and cracking at the lower right corner.

Beautiful color advertisement for the Milwaukee Road advertising for Summer resorts in the North West. Frame measures 9" x 25" Rubber stamped on the upper right hand corner with a date of July 21, 1887. The sheet has three fold marks, otherwise no rips, tears or staining. Really great broadsheet. Marked as printed by Rand McNally.

Framed Western Pacific advertising poster. The visible area inside the frame measures 15 3/4" x 19 1/2". The poster has some very light browning at the edges, otherwise no notable condition issues. A nice look of the Zephyr's multiple vista domes and Western Pacific F units making their way through the Feather River Canyon.

386 - Gee Cee Three Chime Brass Step Top Steam Whistle

Whistle measure 8" tall with an 1 1/4" inlet. Side of the hex on the valve stamped with Gee Cee Co. PT Huron M. Valve moves freely and no notable damage outside of some nicks and very minor dents on the bell.

387 - Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway Overland Limited Advertising Poster

Early 1900's poster for Milwaukee Road's Overland Limited passenger train which served large cities such as Chicago, Omaha, and San Francisco. Visible poster measures 17" x 23 1/2". The lower right corner of the poster has notable water staining and there is also a 3" long tear which extends from the right edge into the lower right edge of the observation platform. The frame is period correct but is dated on the reverse much earlier than the poster. We do not believe it to be original. See photos for best description.

388 - 7 3/4" Brass Pressure Gauge - Reads Up to 360

Gauge reads Sc.T and has a patent date of Aug 28, 1906. Unfortunately, there was a piece of masking tape attached to the gauge face on 7-20-1965 over the makers mark. This tape ruined the paint which has obscured the mark. Some green paint remnants around the edge of the bezel. A section of the mounting flange is broken. See photos for best description.

389 - Chicago and Northwestern 1939 Framed Calendar - Very Good Condition

Outstanding Chicago and Northwestern Railroad 1939 calendar. All sheets are attached and in great condition. The backing sheet has a few very minor creases where the calendar was rolled over the years. There is also one very minor 1/2" tear at the upper right edge of the calendar. The frame measures 24 1/4" x 33 1/2".

390 - Union Pacific Railroad F3A EMD / Electromotive Builders Plate

Locomotive started life as Union Pacific F-3 A 1457. Plate has a build date of OCT. 1948. Serial number is 6331. Plate is in good condition with some minor discoloration around the mounting holes and light fading of the red coloring on the plate.

Large 1894 photograph showing a CB&Q / Burlington train with two thousand cut away disc harrows from Cutaway Harrow Co. being shipped to Lininger & Metcalf co. in Omaha Nebraska. Photo is dated January 15, 1894. Frame measures 35 1/2" x 28 1/2"The matting has water staining on three sides, but they did not reach the actual photograph. The frame also shows some signs of moisture exposure, but it likely original to the photograph.

Broadsheet measures 8" x 24" and is for the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway. Sheet has six folds and minor tears, but otherwise strong color and overall a nice display. A protective plastic sheet has been stapled around the sheet before it was framed. The staples do not go through the broadsheet. Printed by Matthewsm Northrup & Co.

396 - EMD / ELECTRO-MOTIVE MKT GP-7 Builders Plate

EMD / Electro-Motive Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad hot dog style builders plate. Locomotive started life as MKT GP-7 1571. Plate has a build date of FEB. 1951 Serial number is 12067. Locomotive was later Wilson 601 and Peabody 601. Plate is in good with minor wear around the mounting holes and one small grinder nick at the lower center mounting hole.

397 - Missouri Pacific Railroad - East via Missouri Pacific Advertising Broadsheet

Visible sheet measures 8" x 27" and has three moderate folds in the top third of the sheet. There is also a 1" long tear on one of the folds. Frame has mild wear. A nice two color broadsheet printed by Woodward & Tiernan.

Light has a lens diameter of 12" and has a 200 watt bulb installed. Serial / model number stamped on the tag 10-D-1230-73. Lens has a crack. Overall the light measures approximately 12" x 12" x 13"

Original framed Alco builders photograph with American Locomotive Company New York City matte. Shows New York Central Dreyfuss 4-6-4 Hudson steam locomotive #5445 after completion. The matte has a few minor water stains, but the photograph is clean and in very good condition. Frame measures 29 1/2" x 15 1/2" and has a few light scuffs and areas of varnish loss.

Clock is series 14 and measures 15" x 35". Includes the original instruction sheet. No wind or door keys. The Railway Express Agency decals on the glass are incredibly fragile. 403 - Pair of Sheet Iron Square Body Railroad Switch Lamps w/ H.R. Sherwood Burners

Pair of square body sheet iron railroad switch lamps equipped with burners which are stamped H.R. Sherwood on the wick raiser wheel. Lenses include two red and two what appear to be RSA blue. The bales on the lamps are fixed and are otherwise unmarked with the exception of the wick raisers. Both bodies have some paint wear and chipping.

There are some scuffs and marks along the top edge around the edge of the sign. Some light surface rust on the reverse of the sign.

407 - Adlake CB&Q / Burlington Railroad Switch Lamp

Adlake No. 165 or 175 CB&Q / Burlington Railroad switch lamp. C.B & Q. R.R. and Adlake patent date tag on the side of the lantern body. Amber and green lens installed. Body has been repainted. Burner pot included with wick raiser, there are signs that the pot and fount were sandblasted. The flame sight lens on the body is broken.

Bell measures 12" in diameter and has EMD and 8004158 cast into the top of the bell. Powered with an air ringer. Bell has been fitted with a pipe and pipe flange to allow for wall mounting.

Board measures 33" x 38". The board is painted with Bulletin with a traditional passenger schedule grid and space at the bottom for tacking notices. Wood has some cracking at the upper corners and some minor wear at the bottom. No additional markings.

Relay has a US&S data tag above the coils, black painted top, and a date of 9-14-44 written on the edge of the case. Good glass. Relay is a bit dusty.

Aluminum shield with painted markings. Measures 93" x 22 1/4". Paint is heavily faded and the left wing has a slight crease with paint loss along it's edge. Still a nice example of Union Pacific's famous herald.

Wooden case measuring 11 1/4" X 10" x 16 1/4" The case is painted black with a white circle painted on the lid. The case has been lined with padded canvas in order to protects its contents from shock. The lining has a light smell of kerosene / lamp oil. Equipped with a leather carrying strap and buckle. All three frames measure 8 1/2 x 15 1/4 and appear to be original. The three informational cards are dated January 1946, September 1944, and February 1949 and were all assigned to crane 11842. Sheets do have water damage from age, but are all still legible. See photos for best description.

419 - Porcelain B&O Please Do Not Flush Sign and Ladies / Gentleman Bathroom Signs

Porcelain 10" x 7" sign reading, " Please do not flush toilet while train is in station" The sign is marked with B.&O. R.R. on the lower left corner and AAA Sign Co., Coitsville OH. Sign has slight nick at one corner but otherwise very nice gloss with no chipping. Also included are a pair of Ladies and Gentleman restroom signs measuring 10" x 2 1/2" with original paper labels on the reverse. See photos for best description.

420 - Industrial Brownhoist Crane 8' Porcelain Boom Sign

Sign measures 96" x 12" Moderate denting and wear in the "R" in Industrial. The sign has a ridge where the sign was masked and the lettering covered each time the crane was painted. This repainting did cover over some damage at the lower edges of the sign. The "S" in Brownhoist also has a dent and some chipping. See photos for best description.

421 - Rough Road Pressed Steel Sign w/ Red Glass Cat Eye Reflectors

Sign measures 25" x 25" and is stamped with Dominion Signal Co. Richmond VA on the reverse of the sign. There is some mild paint loss, small rust spots, and some non original blue paint spots. All the red glass cat eyes are intact and the sign exhibits a nice patina.

422 - 14 1/2" Tall Single Chime Steam Whistle

Whistle valve has a 1" diameter inlet and the body is stamped with 44 1/2". Lever moves freely and returns to original position. The bell is clean with no notable dents or condition issues beyond some tiny nicks. Acorn nut on the top has minor wear. See photos for best description.

423 - Twelve Railroad Tank Car Placards and Three Steel Frames

Group includes three steel frames measuring 15 1/2" x 15 1/2" one stamped with Wagner Mall Steel, the other two unmarked. There are a total of twelve hazardous material placards to go in these frames. These have a varying degree of wear. See photos for best description.

424 - CB&Q / Burlington "Official Watch Inspector" Window Decal

This is a really unique Burlington Route Official Watch Inspector window decal. The decal is still mounted to its' original backing and measures 10 3/4" x 12" The decal does have moderate condition issues including moderate chipping on the right hand side and missing areas on two sides. Overall this is a really unique piece for the CB&Q and / or railroad pocket watch collector.

425 - Seth Thomas / Ball Watch Cleveland Railroad Depot Clock

Clock face reads "Ball Watch Co. Cleveland with Made by Seth Thomas in U.S.A." The clock measures approximately 26" x 17" The reverse of the clock has a hand written note taped to it states that the clock was the Rock Island depot clock from Hutchinson, Kansas and was purchased from the depot agent. The face has some wear with paint flaking from the upper right corner. The original directions are still stamped inside back of the clock although they are faded with some chipping. The key and pendulum bob are included.

426 - O.C. Zinn CB&Q / Burlington Watch Inspector Pocket Watch Fob

Pocket watch fob reads, " O.C. Zinn Est. 1889 The Leading Jeweler Watch Inspector C.B. & Q. RY. Hastings Neb." Leather strap and buckle are in good condition. Fob exhibits minor pocket wear.

427 - Grand Trunk and Western Railway "Pick Up Service" Painted Steel Sign

Sign measures 34" x 10" with four mounting holes. There is some minor paint loss around the center mounting holes and edges. The sign still retains nice color and patina.

428 - Burlington & Missouri River Railroad 1883 Record of Locomotive Repair Book

Bound book which measures 11 1/4" x 16 1/8" Spine is stamped with gold lettering which reads, " Record of Locomotive Repairs B. & M R.R.. The interior of the book is 200 pages with 97 pages detailing locomotive repairs from 1883. This book is a treasure trove of information on the day to day locomotive repairs necessary during that time period. The cover has some moisture staining and wear as do a few of the initial pages. 429 - New York Central Railroad Marked Wooden Passenger Step Box

Box measures 15 1/2" x 12" x 9" and is stamped on one side with NYC RR. There are at least two coats of paint. An early green coat and a later gray coat. Some chipping and wear throughout, but the box is still in good condition with strong corners.

430 - CB&Q/ Burlington Railroad Handwritten Locomotive Roster Through 1877

Another incredible book showcasing CB&Q / Burlington Route History. This 192 page book measuring 8" x 12 1/2" is a handwritten ledger of CB&Q locomotives covering locomotive numbers 1-31. This is an incredibly detailed ledger noting locomotive names, acquisition dates, railroads the locomotive were acquired from, mechanical details such as weight, water capacity, firebox size, and a list of major repaired and updates to each locomotive through about 1877. The book is incredibly fragile with the front cover and first few pages already detached. We think this book could be a treasure trove of information and that with the correct type of conservation it will last many more decades.

A customer that was kind enough to write us that, "That "weld" was deliberately put there by the Union Pacific when they joined two Automatic Block Signal semaphore bearings (home and distant) to convert it to a TRAIN ORDER signal for use at a train order station." Adams & Westlake lamp with a round top and Adlake Non Sweating Lamp embossed in the top. The lamp measures 17" wide, 19" tall, and 10" deep. There is a post mount on the rear. The interior contains a large fuel tank with three founts with Planlite on the wick raisers. The lamp has been fired and appears to be original. The burner pot and founts appear to have been restored. The front inserts are plexiglass. No notable condition issues other than minor paint loss.

448 - Chicago, Burlington & Quincy / Burlington Troop Kitchen Car

Former CB&Q / Burlington Troop Kitchen car. Car was built as CB&Q 250079 in January 1944 as a Troop Kitchen Car. It was later renumbered to BN976199 by the Burlington Northern where it was used in Maintenance of Way duty. It was purchased from the Burlington Northern in 1993 and moved to its' present location. The windows have been welded shut, but the side doors are functional. The car was sand blasted and repainted within the last 10 years and has fairly good paint and body. The car is mostly weather tight, but the end doors could use a bit of work to completely sealed. The car retains its' friction bearing trucks. The car will be emptied of its' contents prior to removal and will be sold empty. All removal and relocation fees are the responsibility of the purchaser. 450 - CB&Q / Burlington and Missouri River Wood Caboose

CB&Q / Burlington and Missouri River wooden caboose. Former CB&Q road number 14262 and former BMR 174. Built in February of 1903 at the Plattsmouth, Nebraska, the caboose is in good condition for the age. The car has received maintenance throughout its time in private ownership including a fresh coat of paint in the past few years. A waterproof rubber membrane was also installed 10-15 years ago on the roof. There is some deterioration of the wooden boards near the bottom and also one end of the car will need some attention. The windows could also use some attention as they are allowing wasps to enter the car during the warmer months. The car retains its' friction bearing trucks. The car will be emptied of its' contents prior to removal and will be sold empty. All removal and relocation fees are the responsibility of the purchaser. 454 - General Railway Signal CB&Q Type K CTC Machine / Model Board - Brickyard to Lincoln, Nebraska

A phenomenal example of a General Railway Signal CTC machine. This massive machine covered approximately 100 miles of railroad between Lincoln and Hastings, Nebraska. This machine is a time capsule and is just like the day the Burlington Northern removed it from service in 1993. The machine was partially reassembled and the pull out relay cabinets and desk are included with the machine, but currently stored separately on the property. The machine measures approximately 8' - 10' wide and about 4' deep. The machine can be broken into multiple sections. 456 - Williams Amusement Device Company - Amusement Park Ride on Train w/ Track

A scarce example of a Williams Amusement Device Company of Denver, Colorado. Train consists of Silver Streak powered F unit and three streamlined passenger cars. The locomotive is equipped with a 7 HP Wisconsin gas powered engine. This train likely operated into the late 1990's but we are unsure of the last time it was set up and operated. The train comes with three passenger cars, all of the wheel sets, and a loop of track on which to operate the train. According to an article with the train, the track should be approximately 580 feet. Lamp measures 11 1/2" tall the glass is 9 3/4" tall and in good condition.

Lamp base has been cast with Wabash Railroad Co. The burner pot is clean and nicely restored with a good solder joint around the rim. The pot is equipped with an Eagle fount. Body has been repainted, and has minor pitting underneath the paint and an 1 1/4" long section of flattening of the curve along the edge of the burner pot rim.

Western Railroad Supply wig wag signal with a unique setup for the CB&Q / Burlington Railroad. Signal is in operating condition and does work. 467 - Cast Iron and Steel Table Lamp w/ No. 2 Queen Anne Fount

Ornate unmarked cast iron base with some paint loss. The burner pot is steel with a brass fill cap and is equipped with a No. 2 Queen Anne fount. Lamp is 10 1/2" tall and the glass is 8 1/2" tall. Lamp has been cleaned but is in good condition with no dents or other notable condition issues other than minor wear and paint loss.

468 - Marinette Tomahawk & Western Railroad Adlake Reliable Lantern

Lantern is an Adams & Westlake Reliable in very original condition. The top has an even coat of flash rust and has a last patent date of 1923. The edge of the top has a slight dent. Burner pot is intact but again a coat of light rust. There is NO rust through on the body, all surface rust. The globe is an extended base etched with M.T.&W. The globe is signal green and measures 5 1/2" tall. There is some etching of the glass that extends about an 1 1/4" from the top. It appears to be run off from the globe possibly being acid etched. One small bubble/ nick just above the "T". Otherwise no notable chips, cracks, or breaks. Because the MT&W was such a small railroad, we can find no conclusive evidence that the railroad did or did not create this globe for use on the line.

469 - Handlan Cast Iron Table Lamp w/ Brass Plating

Lamp has Handlan St. Louis, MO. cast into the base. The burner pot is equipped with a Queen Anne No. 2 Fount. The body has some spotting and oxidation marks on the plating. Good glass. See photos for best description.

470 - Adlake Reliable Red Globe Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Lantern

Top of the lantern is embossed Adlake Reliable with C & N. W. Ry on the shoulder of the lamp. The last patent date on the edge is Nov. 23, 1911. Top has been partially cleaned. Burner pot is intact with fount and wick raiser. The red globe measures 5 3/8" tall and is marked with the CNX logo. Globe is cast with C&NWRy in panel. No notable chips, cracks or breaks. There is a bit of what appears to be black paint residue inside the globe, should clean.

471 - Handlan Cast Iron Table Lamp

Lamp has Handlan St. Louis, MO. cast into the base. The burner pot is equipped with an Eagle marked fount. The body has been restored and is very clean with one minor chip. Good glass. See photos for best description.

472 - Marinette Tomahawk & Western Railroad Keystone No. 39 Lantern

Lantern is a single guard Keystone No. 39 lantern in unrestored condition. The body has a light coating of rust, but no rust through on the body. Burner pot is intact but again a coat of light rust. The globe is a signal green etched with M.T.&W. The globe measures 5 3/8" tall. There is some etching of the glass that extends about an 1 1/4" from the top and only on the front side of the globe. It appears to be run off from the globe possibly being acid etched. One small chip on the lower rim. Otherwise no notable chips, cracks, or breaks. Because the MT&W was such a small railroad, we can find no conclusive evidence that the railroad did or did not create this globe for use on the line.

473 - Lunkenheimer 23" Tall Steam Whistle w/ Offset Inlet

Whistle measures approximately 23" tall from tip to tip. Equipped with a 1 3/4" offset inlet valve. The valve does have a moderate amount of pitting, but you can still make out the remainder of the word Lunkenheimer. The bell is 4 1/2" in diameter and is missing four attachment screws which mount it to the body. Bell is clean with only minor areas of oxidation. The valve moves freely.

474 - Great Northern Railway 30" Porcelain Rocky Sign

Great Northern round porcelain sign featuring the Rocky goat. Sign measures 30" in diameter with four mounting holes. Three of the four original brass grommets are present. Chipping around all four of the grommet holes. The largest field chip is about 2" in diameter, the smaller is an 1 1/2" in diameter. There is also minor paint splatter on the sign which does clean. Sign retains a high level of gloss.

475 - Crosby? 22" Three Chime Brass Steam Whistle

Whistle measures approximately 22" tall and has a 1 3/4" inlet. No stamping or casting numbers on the valve or bell. Bell diameter is approximately 6 1/2". Bell has a few tiny dents, but no major condition issues. Valve moves freely and lever has been repainted.

476 - Santa Fe Railway Smoking Stand w/ Herald in Base

Unrestored Santa Fe railroad smoking stand. Stand has the Santa Fe herald on the base with blue and white accents. Stand exhibits some minor scratches and wear to the chrome and stainless steel. There is also minor loss of the black paint on the base. Measures approximately 25" tall. Will clean to a very nice display piece with minor work.

The drum major baton is 45" tall and has heavy denting to the top. The photograph is a reproduction and shows the Burlington Lines West band in Lincoln, Nebraska. You can clearly see the Lines West banner visible in the background. A really unique set of Burlington history.

484 - Burlington / CB&Q Railroad Cook Hot Box / Journal Cooler

Cooler is embossed with the Burlington Route herald and measures approximately 26" x 16" x 12". Iron parts have some surface rust but the cooler is in overall good condition. Retains original chains and wooden handle. This cooler could hang on the side of a car and would gravity feed water onto a hot journal box to allow the train to continue.

Plate measures 12" x 16" with strong enamel. The plate has a mark that runs horizontally across it from where something sideswiped the locomotive. The mark only dented the plate and did not remove the enamel. There are other minor scuffs, but otherwise the plate is in good condition.

Bound book which measures 11 1/4" x 16 1/8" Spine is stamped with gold lettering which reads, " Engine Repairs 1886 B. & M R.R. in Neb." The interior of the book is 158 pages with 156 pages detailing locomotive repairs from 1886. Appears to cover the locomotive roster from locomotive numbers 1-156. This book is a treasure trove of information on the day to day locomotive repairs necessary during that time period. The cover has some moisture staining and wear as do a few of the initial pages. The single wire guard and bell bottom are both in good condition. Burner pot with Adams & Westlake wick raiser is present. The lantern body has been cleaned and clear coated and presents very nicely. 5 3/8" tall red globe with C. I. & L. cast in rectangular panel. 1/2" long chip at the top rim of the globe and a smaller chip on the bottom rim.

Handlan-Buck "The Handlan" double guard bell bottom lantern. Bell bottom is embossed with C.C C.&STL.R.R. The lantern has been cleaned and does show some light scuffing / wire wheel marks in the tin and solder. Some light flash rust around the twist off base. The body is otherwise clean with no notable condition issues. Twist off bottom / burner pot with Merlin & Co. inside wick raiser. The extended base clear cast globe measures 5 1/2 tall and has CCC&St.L cast in rectangular panel. The globe is in excellent condition with only a few very tiny chips around the lower rim.

504 - Southern Pacific Railroad The New Sunset Limited Advertising Poster

Frame measures 22 3/8" x 21 3/4". The poster is assumed to measure just slightly smaller. The poster shows the Southern Pacific Audubon Dining Room on the New Sunset Limited passenger train. Poster has some light waves in the paper and some pencil writing in the lower right corner. The colors have faded slightly, but still a very nice representation of this piece.

505 - Armspear No.3 Double Guard Northern Pacific Railway Lantern w/ Cast Red Globe

Armspear No. 3 Northern Pacific double / steel guard lantern. Shoulder of the lantern is embossed with N.P. RY. and stamped with 36305 in Serif font. The last patent date on the top of the lantern appears to be Oct. 22 89. Twist off bottom with a patent date of Aug 19, 1913. Armspear wing lock fount w/ Dietz Convex wick holder. Body is in nice condition with no rust issues, dents, etc. The CNX red cast globe measures 5 1/4" tall and is cast with N.P. R.R. in a rounded end rectangular panel. The rear of the globe has Safety Always cast. Globe has one notable bubble / surface chip on the rear to the lower right of Always, otherwise clean with only one other notable chip at the top rim.

507 - SG&L Brass Top New York Central & Hudson River Railroad Lantern

Steam Gauge & Lantern brass top / bell bottom No. 39 New York Central & Hudson River Railroad lantern. The shoulder of the lantern is embossed with N.Y.C. & H.R.R.R. The body has mild pitting throughout which has been cleaned but still present. The manufacture stamping is partially unreadable because of the pitting. The bell bottom has one pinhole rust through spot as does the underside of the drop out burner pot. One of the brass straps on the pot is broken but still functions. The tall extended base globe measures 5 7/8" tall and is cast with NYC&HRRR CO in the clear globe. The globe has no notable chips, cracks or breaks.

508 - Beautiful Chicago and Northwestern Full Color Broadsheet - Enchanted Summer Land

This lot features a stunning Chicago and Northwestern advertising broad sheet. The sheet measures approximately 9 1/2" x 27 1/4". The frame measures 14 3/4" x 32 3/4". The broadsheet aims to sell Chicago and Northwestern "To the Enchanted Summer Land" of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. Outstanding color on the birds and on the sheet in general. There are three folds which allowed the sheet to be folded into four fold outs. The creases are notable, but none of them have torn the paper. The sheet is marked D 235 at the bottom with Rand, McNally & Co. Printers and Engravers, Chicago.

509 - Adams & Westlake Reliable Kansas City Southern Bell Bottom Lantern

Adams & Westlake Reliable Kansas City Southern bell bottom lantern with red cast globe. The shoulder of the lantern is embossed with K.C.S. Ry and the last patent date is Jan. 26, 1909. The lantern has been cleaned and the bell bottom has minor denting. Some light flash rust on the underside of the lid. Adlake burner pot is present with an outside wick raiser. Red cast CNX globe measures 5 3/8" tall and has K.C.So. Ry. cast in rectangular panel with Safety First etched on the rear. There is one small chip on the lower rim and numerous small casting bubbles, but no major imperfections.

510 - Large Burlington Route Aluminum Sign

Large aluminum Burlington / CB&Q Railroad sign mounted on wood. The sign measures 57 1/2" x 48". This is an aluminum sign with a two piece reflective vinyl overlay. The sign does have minor scratches and a few small chips. This sign with the wood is very heavy. Handlan Missouri, Kansas & Texas railroad No. 39 clear globe lantern. Shoulder is embossed with M.K.&T.R.R. The top has a slight dent in the edge and a lean, The body has been cleaned and clear coated. The underside of the lamp has some pinhole rust areas and areas of the tin being repaired. Outside wick raiser with Handlan fount. The bottom of the burner pot has multiple rust through areas. The extended base clear globe measures 5 3/8" tall and is etched MK&TRY. The globe has a bit of what I will call fogging on the left side and around the top rim, but otherwise is clean with no major chips, cracks or breaks.

512 - American Locomotive Company / Alco C.M. & P.S. 2-6-6-2 # 5023 Framed Builders Photograph

Original framed Alco builders photograph with American Locomotive Company New York City matte. Shows Chicago, Milwaukee & Puget Sound 2-6-6-2 #5023 after completion. The photo shows some modern discoloration around the edges of the matte and some light water stains at skinning of the matte at the top edge. The photograph itself is in very nice condition. Frame measures 33 3/4" x 21 1/2" and has a brass and black enamel plaque which reads American Locomotive Company New York. Frame has some light wear of the black paint but is in good condition. A typed note on the reverse of the photo reads, "Remains of a label on the back read: Chamberlain, Pass. Eng E(B?) 15, 1911 Compliments of: Chas A. D(?) Supr. 1911"

Armspear Erie Railroad No. 12 lantern. The shoulder of the lantern is embossed ERIE.R.R. and the side of the top is stamped 3371 in serif numbering. The top has a small dent on two of the steps. E. Miller fount with outside wick raiser. Lantern body has been cleaned. The 5 3/8" extended base clear cast globe is cast with ERR Co in rectangular panel. Very minor chips in the top and bottom rims, and a few tiny bubbles in the glass. No major chips, cracks or breaks.

Twist off bottom with P&A fount. Includes extended base red cast globe measures 5 3/8" tall and is cast with PRR in serif font. Globe has a 1 3/4" crack extending down from the top rim.

516 - Chicago and Northwestern Bern Hill Route of the 400 Advertising Poster

Chicago and Northwestern Bern Hill advertising poster. Poster measures 17" x 22" and the frame measures slightly larger. Poster touts the benefits of Smooth Going via the Route of the 400. The poster also makes mention of Chicago and Northwestern's use of General Motors diesel locomotives. There is minor skinning near the top edge and upper right corner of the poster. One fold at the center of the poster and a small 1" tear just above the fold.

517 - Dietz No.6 Bell Bottom New York Central Railroad Lantern w/ Clear Cast Globe

Dietz No. 6 New York Central lantern embossed with New York Central in the shoulder of the lantern. The bell bottom is in good condition and the lantern features a drop fount with a Dietz burner pot. The extended base clear cast globe measures 6" tall and is cast with New York Central in serif font. Some tiny chips in both rims, no chips, cracks or breaks. Underside of the lantern has L-38 painted in white.

518 - CB&Q / Burlington Style Semaphore Blade

Burlington Route / CB&Q semaphore blade and hub. This was originally a three aspect blade that was eventually changed to a fixed approach blade with the green and red lens removed and blanked out. The blade was also painted over but appears to retain its' original paint underneath. This could make a great restoration project. The blade is dirty, but no major condition issues other than a slight bend to the blade which should be able to be straightened without much work. See photos for best description. Please note that this is not a standard shippable item. This lot may be picked up in Lafayette Indiana or will require 3rd party shipping arrangements to be made.

Adams & Westlake double wire guard Rutland Railroad lantern. Shoulder of the lantern is embossed with RUTLAND R.R.. The bell has a slight bent and small spots of flash rust on one side. The last patent date on the top is Jan 26. 1909. The number 4094 is also stamped in serif font on the shoulder. The clear cast CNX globe is 5 3/4" tall and is cast with Rutland R.R. Globe has some very minor surface and rim chips along with a bit of fogging of the glass. See photos for best description.

520 - Large Chicago and Northwestern Railroad "Ride the 400 Fleet" Framed Advertising Poster

Large framed Chicago and Northwestern railroad advertising poster measuring approximately 25" x 37". The poster features the Chicago and Northwestern streamlined diesel locomotive from the famous 400 passenger train. The bottom of the poster has A-24-42-1M. The frame measures 29 1/8" x 41 3/8" The poster is slightly larger than the frame with about a 1/4" exposed on the back above the backing cardboard. Poster has some minor condition issues including a 3" tear which extends from the bottom edge up into the "n" in north. There is also a 9" crease on the right lower edge outside of the printed field. Towards the top there are some minor scratches which are not torn, but visible in the sky and clouds. Frame is also an older frame of better quality, but may not be original to the poster.

Adams & Westlake Reliable Spokane Portland and Seattle lantern. Lantern is embossed with S.P. & S. Ry on the shoulder. Last patent date of April of 1913. Equipped with an Adlake outside wick raiser fount and burner pot. The body has flash rust on about 40% of the body but no rust through,. The clear extended base globe measures 5 3/8" and is etched with S.P. & S.. Globe has a 1" surface chip on the lower edge, and other minor chips. No cracks.

522 - Seth Thomas No. 2 Railroad Depot Regulator Clock

Seth Thomas No. 2 Regulator clock. Clock is complete with the weight, key, pendulum bob and other small items. These have been removed for safe shipment of the clock. The clock measures approximately 34" x 16". The face of the clock has some fading of the numbers along with some scratches on the face. The clasp to secure the top door is broken / missing and the wood face ring has some minor separation of the joints. See photos for best description.

Equipped with a Handlan outside wick raiser fount and burner pot. The body has some light flash rust on the top, but is otherwise clean. The clear extended base globe measures 5 1/4" and is cast with TStL&WRR in rectangular panel. Globe has a few small rim chips, and small casting bubbles. No chips, cracks or breaks.

Northern Pacific Railway advertising poster featuring the Sydney Laurence painting, "Alaskans off to the Potlach". The poster measures approximately 29" x 40". The frame is 32 3/4" x 42 1/4". The poster is not mounted to the backer and does not have glass. The poster has an even browning throughout the poster and multiple light cracks in the paper, especially near the center of the poster. A few small tack holes and marks around the edges. Overall, this is still a nice example of this poster, there are no missing sections or major rips or tears. See photos for best description.

The body has been cleaned but has a fair amount of pitting on the shoulder and guards, but still presents nicely. Equipped with a Adlake outside wick raiser fount and burner pot. The red globe measures 5 3/8" and is etched with A.& B.B. R.R. in rectangular panel. Clean rims and a few tiny casting bubbles. No chips, cracks or breaks.

526 - Large Wooden Railroad Ticket Cabinet - CB&Q Orchard, Nebraska

Wooden railroad ticket cabinet measuring 21 3/4" x 36" x 12". The interior appears to be complete with all shelving and ticket holders. The lock mechanism has been removed from the door. A new pass through lock was added which allowed the case to be padlocked from the outside. Based on information on a sheet which was glued to the back interior of the cabinet, this case appears to be off of the CB&Q / Burlington in Orchard, Nebraska. The case does have cracking of the varnish, some corner and edge wear, and a few additional nail holes.

Armspear Soo Line Railroad No. 12 lantern. The shoulder of the lantern is embossed SOO LINE. The top has a notable dent on one edge. Last patent date of May 28. '95. Armspear fount with outside wick raiser. Lantern body has been cleaned and clear coated. The 5 3/8" extended base red cast globe is cast with Soo Line in panel. Very minor bottom rim chips. No major chips, cracks or breaks.

528 - Chicago and Northwestern Railroad "A Limited Train" Framed Advertising Print - Detroit Publishing Co

A fine example of a Chicago and Northwestern Line framed advertising print. This print shows Chicago and Northwestern 4-4-2 #1100 pulling a limited passenger train over a bridge and through a field as it splits a pair of semaphore signals. Of interesting note if you look in the background you can make out a Hall Disc Signal which was painted into the scene. Marked in the lower right corner with Copyright 1907 Detroit Publishing Co. The matte reads, " A Limited Train Chicago and Northwestern Line" The visible print measures 25 1/4" x 13 3/4". The frame which appears to be original to the print measures 38 1/4" x 26 1/4". The frame has some minor dents, nicks, and light corner wear but is still very nice. The print and matte are in excellent condition with no notable condition issues.

C.T. Ham sheet iron lamp. Lamp stamped with a patent date of Feb. 28, '88. Lamp is equipped with two clear 2 3/4" Semaphore lenses, 5" red lens, and a 6" green glass insert. 530 - Railway Express Agency Agent Wooden Trunk w/ Contents

This lot is truly a time capsule in every sense of the word. Railway Express Agency agent truck measuring 33" x 18" x 18" painted red and stenciled on the ends with 220555 and RY EX AGY on the front in black paint. The interior is a snap shot of the last day that this trunk was used in service. There is a newspaper dated January 14th 1968 which we assume is the last day this was used in service. The contents of the trunk includes everything an Railway Express Agency agent would need for a normal day. There are numerous types of Railway Express Agency paperwork, and Railway Express Agency sign, envelopes, log books, cloth bags, and more. Some of the more unique items include an Railway Express Agency marked hatchet, original packets of antacid, paper back books from the 1960's and plenty of soap and other toiletries. It's unusual to find something like this so complete. For the Railway Express Agency collector, going through this trunk will yield layer upon layer of treasures and interesting information. The trunk weighs easily 100 pounds and will need to travel via third party shipment. See photos for best description.

Clear Creek Canon on "The Colorado Road." (Colorado Southern Railway). The chromolithograph itself is in outstanding condition. No notable condition issues to report. The matte minor marks near the lower edge, but again, no major condition issues to note. The frame has been repainted at some point during its' life and is showing new chips as well after the repaint. Frame measures 26 1/2" x 30 3/8"

Twist off bell bottom with a patent date of Dec. 26 '93. The top of the lantern has a small hole drilled which has flattened the top of the domed cap. The top clip is loose from the top and will need solder repaired. The clear cast globe measures 5 3/8" tall and is cast with C&NW Ry. There are minor chips on both rims, but no major chips, cracks or breaks.

Table shows rates between New York, Piermont, Big Flatts and many destinations between. Frame measures 23 3/4" x 21" and mild wear.

Pair of Adams & Westlake "The Adams" CB&Q / Burlington Railroad lanterns. Both lanterns embossed with Burlington Route on the shoulder. One lantern has four small holes drilled in the top, no globe, but does have the burner pot and fount. The second lantern has been electrified, no burner, a shortened bale, and a moderately cracked clear cast globe with Burlington Route cast in rectangular panel. These are parts lanterns and are sold as is shown in the photos.

542 - National Ticket Case Company Wooden Railroad Ticket Cabinet

Railroad wooden ticket cabinet manufactured by the National Ticket Case Company of Chicago Illinois. Case measures 22" x 22 1/2" x 8 1/2" Brass plaque on the front with the manufacturing information. Case has been painted over the original wood finish and there are three interior shelves missing. One shelf and the ticket holders are present. Lock mechanism present, no key. This would make a very nice case once properly restore. Minor issues with the wood include minor nicks and one nail hole and minor crack in the roll up door along with one spot of wear on the back corner. See photos for best description.

564 - Frederick Gutekunst - Large Framed Panoramic Photograph of the Pennsylvania Railroad Rockville Bridge

An incredible framed photograph of the Pennsylvania Railroad's Rockville Bridge from famed Photographer Frederick Gutekunst of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The photograph itself measures 45" x 16 1/4". The frame measures 56" x 28 1/4". The print has a credit of F. Guteknust Photog Philada on the lower right corner. The scene depicts a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train coming East off of the Rockville bridge. This photo pre-dates the famous stone arch structure which still stands to this day. The train on the bridge consists of Pennsylvania locomotive #64, RPO cars #34 and 25, ventilated baggage car, standard baggage, two coaches, and Pullman Palace sleeper, and two Pullman Sleeping cars. There is a brief history of how the photograph was acquired in 1976 from an estate in Hinsdale, Illinois. It is believed the photograph changed hands through two other parties before reaching the current owner. It is also believed that this photograph may have hung at The Grand Pacific Hotel in Chicago although we do not have definitive proof. The overall condition of the photograph is good for the age. Noted condition issues are as follows: There is a water stain which extends 8 1/2" in from the left side of the matte around and behind the photograph. This staining only appears to have affected about a 2" section of the lower left corner of the photograph. The matte behind the photograph shows the water staining and it has also washed out some of the blue pin striping on the left side of the photograph. There is fading of these pin stripes along various sections of the photo. There are three faint light brown lines running vertical through the photograph. These lines are 14" apart and may have to do with how the photograph was mounted. There is a 1 1/4" tear in the matte on the left side of the photograph. Overall this is a really nice and incredibly scarce photograph. We have researched Gutekunst work and commercial works of this size have rarely entered the market place. Do not miss your chance to own this unique photograph.

566 - Northern Pacific Railway Pullman Blanket

Blue Pullman marked blanket which has also been later marked in black ink with NPR, measures 55" x 60". There is some light sun fading of the blanket where the Pullman logo was folded and displayed. No notable rips or holes.

567 - Hiram Piper Lamp w/ Black Out Shutter

Piper lamp marked with Hiram Piper Co. Limited Makers Montreal embossed tag on the door. The lamp is equipped with a black out lens that can be lowered or raised from the outside of the lamp. Burner pot is intact. Body has some black paint on the lens and paint chipping in other areas.

300A - Pair of Ashcroft Gauges - Airbrake Gauge

Includes 4 3/4" gauge which have been marked secondary with Cornell-Wigman-Searl Co. Lincoln Nebraska and serial number 78338. Second gauge which is a dual needle air brake gauge reads up to 200 PSI and measures 6 1/2". The flange on this gauge has broken about 1/4 of the way around and some of the threads on one inlet are broken as well. See photos for best description.

341A - Incredible New York Central Railroad Train / Indicator From Chicago LaSalle Street Station

Wow! This is an incredible opportunity to add a real statement piece to your collection. What is shown in the photos is a track / train indicator from LaSalle Street station in Chicago. These indicators were custom designed by the New York Central and built by Job Hutchinson of Great Neck, New York. This indicator saw some amazing history as it was served by famous named trains such as the 20th Century Limited, Rock Island Rocket, Nickel Plate Limited, and many others. Its' final years were spent calling out the destinations of the daily Chicago commuter rush and it includes a destination roll for one of those commuter trains.These indicators were installed just outside of the train shed at La Salle Street Station in Chicago. These boards were used to hold the destination rolls and train name signage for each track. The side features a crack slot which was used to drive a chain to lift the destination rolls into place. The smaller side slot was used to display the Pullman car numbers. Below the destination rolls are cabinets to house the rolls. The marquee of the sign is lighted which illuminates the name of the train and the track number. There is an additional light which shines down to illuminate the destination roll.The train indicator features art deco styling combined with the Central's traditional silver striping around the entire piece and the marquee. The piece is unrestored and very much in the same condition as the day that it was removed from LaSalle Station. Assume that some restoration work would need to be completed to make the sign functional again.We are unable to verify that the acrylic name train inserts are correct. We have seen other example of these signs, but are unable to photo match them to this indicator. They do fit and look very nice.This piece is large measuring 9' 10" tall by 43" wide and approximately 26" deep. We estimate the weight to be between 400-600 pounds. This item will not be shippable via our traditional methods. The buyer will be responsible for arranging palletizing and freight or pickup of this item outside of Indianapolis, Indiana.
